The DNPA Policy Matters Committee leads member engagement on legal, regulatory, and policy developments impacting the digital news publishing industry in India.The committee coordinates responses to government consultations, builds consensus on key policy positions, and ensures that member voices are effectively represented in dialogues with policymakers, regulators, and industry forums.
Key Focus Areas
- Monitoring and analyzing developments in digital competition, content regulation, intermediary rules, data governance, advertising norms and others
- Coordinating industry inputs for policy consultations issued by ministries and regulatory bodies
- Seeking expert legal opinions and organizing knowledge sessions for members
- Drafting position papers, internal guidelines, and summary notes on emerging policy issues
- Facilitating engagement with allied associations, legal experts, and domain specialists

- Chairperson & Vice Chair Person : Appointed from a member organization
- Core Members: Legal, regulatory, editorial, and business heads from member companies
- Support Function: DNPA secretariat anchors coordination, documentation, and expert outreach
- The committee plays a critical role in helping members stay informed, aligned, and proactive in shaping the regulatory environment for digital news.
